Purpose: This research was aimed to provide basic data for developing a program related to nano gold cosmetics by identifying factors which influence middle-aged women¡¯s skin condition (moisture, roughness, pore, and pigment) by using nano gold essence.
Methods: The experimental participants, 13 women in their 50s, were selected for analysis. The skin on the left cheek where nano gold essence was not applied was measured as the control area. The skin on the right cheek where nano gold essence was applied was measured as the test area. The results were compared with each other.
Results: According to the test analysis, the test area showed an increase of moisture (F=6.914, p<.001) and a reduction in roughness (F=22.652, p<.001), pore (F=2.902, p<.05), and pigment (F=37.717, p<.001).
Conclusion: It is recommended that cosmetic manufacturers should use nano gold in the essence formulation that can be absorbed into skin more easily when making functional cosmetics. Moreover, nano gold will be a valuable new material that influences on moisturizing, whitening, and minimizing pores.
